Why Have Patients Abnormal Emotions? Most patients have abnormal emotions, especially for chronic sick patients.
In Chinese medicine, our organs control emotions. Once an organ function is abnormal, it emotions will show out except the patient has good moral cultivation. Please refer to the table below.

If a patient has a kidney problem, his emotion is fear. In contrast, if a person always fears something, his kidney function is not perfect in the Chinese medicine. Therefore, if a person has fear, we treat his kidneys. We will needle his UB 23 to treat the root problem and UB 52 to treat his emotion.

On the diagnose line, is the invasion relationship. For example, water (kidney) invades Fire (Heart) and Earth (Spleen) invades Water (Kidney). So, if a person has a fear, he might have over thinking (worry) or not happy. This shows organ invasion situation happened for a while, that affects his emotions.

Any emotion prolonged, will go to the heart and cause the patient could not fell Joyce.

Therefore, from the above charts, we can know that:
If a patient has liver problem, he has anger temp. He might also have sadness and/or worry. Or, prolonged, he hardly feels happy.
If a patient has heart problem, he does not feel happy. He might feel sadness and/or worry or over thinking.

If a patient has spleen problem, he is always over thinking or worry. He might feel anger and/or fear. Or, prolonged, he hardly feels happy.

If a patient has lung problem, he feels sad easily. He might feel anger and/or not happy.
If more emotions come out, the patient will have more severe emotions such as depression, anxiety, frustration, etc. In addition, lack of energy and shows laziness.
